Nextwave Deadline Approaching

Regional Youth Short Film Competition Closing Soon

Young people living in Regional and remote Australia have unique stories to tell and the Nextwave Youth Film Festival, Australia’s largest regional youth film competition, wants to hear them.

Short films entered by September 23rd have the chance to win in over $40,000 in prizes and have their films reach regional audiences Australia wide!

Shining a spotlight on the issues and subjects that young Australians are passionate about, the Nextwave Youth Film program is in its fifth year of developing filmmaking and storytelling skills in schools and education centres for young people living in Regional Australia.

For the 2019 competition, Nextwave are asking young people aged 10 to 25 to draw inspiration from the theme ‘discovery’ and the item ‘game’, the competition closes September 23rd at midnight. Young creatives can enter as many films as they like as long as each film is less than 6-minutes long. Selected finalists will see their films premiere during the Screenwave International Film Festival this January at the Nextwave Youth Film Awards: a red carpet, gala event hosted in Coffs Harbour, where filmmakers come together to be celebrated and awarded.
